A Bozoical E-Rubaiyat

Sometimes I wonder if this guy Bozo , Mumbai's blogger Dog, is actually more evolved than us.

I mean, he watches folks all around him, and their activities in the rain. He sees folks sleeping off, getting up late, fiddling around endlessly on their phones, watching television serials, and various sports without moving their own limbs, all the while continuously imbibing stuff.

And then he watches some folks,  having proper meals, doing some yoga, and spending a decent afternoon of a stormy day , with a book .

And he simply knows who he should emulate.  I wish some bipeds could understand this and learn.......

I hear there used to be a chap
called Omar Khayyam
who wrote about
a loaf of bread,
a jug of wine, and thou....

Very clearly,
he missed out
on the finer things in life...

A drizzling monsoon,
me sitting ,
in the breeze,
nicely rubbed and dried
after a butterfly chase,
a crisp dosa
wrapped around my paws,
warm milk in the bowl,
a few special London treats
sitting alongside,
as my nostrils get into
an exciting quiver,
at the sight
of a book,
of me,
for me,
by someone else.....

Sorry, Omar !
Bread, wine and thou
are not a patch on
dosa, milk, and me ....

Bozoical secret wishes.....

Bozo, Mumbai's only blogging dog  is someone who learns a lot by observation. In addition, he has folks who read to him,  and he listens, particularly when it relates to him.

He has seen his family enjoying books, has hung around peering into books and magazines being read by them, and had hoped that someone would at some point come up with a book for him.

Turns out, that in celebration of a chap who learned good things in life by observation and deep canine thinking,  an old lady from the far away woods in Mumbai actually came up with that book.

Yes, Bozo practices reading. And listening. And Magiceye captures him doing just that.

But he has a secret wish.

Read on .

There is something
about nature and nurture....

At first ,
I thought
it was about
someone playing with spellings.

Then I would
observe folks
sitting down  to read
after a tired day in traffic,
or an incessant rain
outside on a weekend
leading to a read
with a cup of masala chai.

Then there were kids coming in
from muddy sports
who washed up
and got down
to book basics.

Nature didn't bless me
with reading eyes,
but I observed
and I liked, and I learned.

Now that I have my own book,
I sit with it,
trying to figure out how to turn the pages.

I don't really have to.

My life has been an open book,
and my great family
helps me turn the pages.

I just wish,
like so many folks who blog,
I could have a poetry reading
at a 5-star place
and have my friends
Luci, Pablo, Lindy, and Sam attend....

Bozoical Life and Times

Bozo, Mumbai's only dog-with-his-own-blog, is, at the end of the day, a man-of-letters.   He inspires pixels, words, and letters, and it was a matter of time before someone wrote something like this , dedicated to him.

It is not easy to learn the alphabet the first time, as we all know, but even then it is remarkable, that Bozo is paying great attention to what the lady of the house is showing him. :-)

Had it been that hefty Moo Aunty, chewing the cud at the corner of the lane, she would have simply chewed this book away .  ....

Some jealous types
call me an E-Dog,
because
I have my own blog,
appear on Facebook
on a weekly basis,
and so many international dogs
communicate with me in the comments.

But I am glad
someone
has compiled this,
and it's always been
a secret ambition
of mine
to have a woof poetry reading.

Amidst the rocks,
on the Carter Road Promenade,
me sitting on a rock
reciting poetry
in my special blue collar,
all my human blogger friends
around me
sipping on some fresh air
tapping their smart phones
and clicking photos.

I wish Luci
from Thiruvanathapuram
could have attended.

In the meanwhile,
it will simply thrill me no end,
to see
the proud and page-3 show-off
Lassie
emerging from her Mercedes
with her new leash,
only to watch me
with my book;
the look on her face
will be amazing....

She doesnt understand
the RTE Act;
I do
and so
I practice reading....

I just hope
Deepak is ready with his camera
to capture her
disappointed look ....
