by the window,
lost in
the memories
of life as a little girl
who played
thieves and robbers
with her brother....
Some other
thieves and robbers
have today
stolen
her future,
as she sits,
swaddled
head to toe
in black,
a veiled life.
The eyes dart
sensing
a sliver of light
as
she rubs her eyes
darkly enclosed....
No one is around,
just she herself
and
a dark, cloudy
sympathetic sky.
Quiet,
into the night,
the clouds smile and part,
the moon beckons,
swimming in an ocean
of grey;
She lifts the veil
slightly ,
smiles, and
feasts her eyes
on the stars;
Life must change,
for
she has seen
the guiding light
in a dark sky........
Lovely

My first time here Ugich, but I have read your poems -- on IHM's comments or Deeps comments.
ReplyDeleteI meandered in from Guria's TOP-5 pics at INDImag.com, she has selected this post.
Loved the transition from the childhood innocence of thieves and robbers to the present day version.
Beautiful words...
Lovely poem.
